Tax
Rebates Explained
If you have been working,
a tax rebate from HM Revenue and Customs will occur when income
tax has been overpaid. There are a number of reasons why this could
have happened:
- You might be a student
and have earned less than the tax free allowance.
- You start a new job
on an emergency tax code.
- HM Revenue assigns
the wrong tax code to your employer
- HM Revenue made an
assessment, for example, for a self-employed person, which was
too high
- Your circumstances
change, E.G. you marry, become a single parent
